A Happiness Update

With two kids in tow, I laced up my running shoes this week and joined a 5K Running Room program. As I pushed the double jogging stroller, my pace was slow and my calves burned, but it made me happy. My goal is to complete the clinic and cross the finish line of a 5K race in June.

Other recent happies:
  •  My two-year-old is officially potty trained! The idea of letting my toddler go diaper free gave me anxiety because I had heard so many terrible toilet training tales, but the whole process couldn't have gone any better. We casually introduced the potty when Henry was 18-months-old, but we didn't buy him any big boy undies until he started asking for a "fresh" diaper. Our three-day toilet training method included; NO Pull-Ups, staying close to home, putting him on the potty a million times a day and rewarding the heck out of successes with praise and Smarties.
  • A day trip up to my favourite magical place, our family cottage, for a hike and picnic lunch.
Rosie in the Ergo.
  • My Book Club got together this week at Erling's Variety to eat Crème brûlée and discuss Broken by Daniel Clay. I'm already looking forward to our next meeting!
  • Henry and Rosemary started their Music and Movement class this week. I was happy I found a class they both could participate in and their instructor, Miss Jessie, is very sweet and patient.

Life is exciting and there is so much to look forward to. This weekend, we're hosting a birthday dinner for our two-year-old niece, Kaitlyn. We have a fun itinerary planned for our out-of-town guests and Rosie finally gets to meet her cousins from Toronto!
