Happiness Is...Holiday Highlights

On Christmas Eve, we attended the children's mass at our church. Poinsettias and candles decorated every corner of Blessed Sacrament. Henry looked adorable in his bow-tie and he made the other parishioners laugh when he cheered enthusiastically after the children's choir sang Little Drummer Boy. My favourite moment was when Henry reached up, grabbed my cheeks and gave me a big kiss. Afterwards, he pushed mama and daddy together to kiss. Our kid is so full of love, I tell you! I was overwhelmed with happiness.

My favourite Christmas tradition is when we bundle up and go for an early morning walk. It is still dark outside and the neighbourhood is silent. Colourful Christmas lights decorate our street and you can feel this indescribable peace enveloping the city like a warm flannel blanket. It is truly beautiful.

Henry loved the big red "boat" Santa brought him. Rain was in the forecast this Christmas, but Auntie Cici was determined to teach Henry that Santa had actually brought him a sled. So, she took him to a local hill, found a sheet of ice and took him tobogganing. When they reached the bottom of the hill, Henry was delighted and yelled "again!"

Christmas was all about family, music, kitchen dance parties, delicious feasts and matching pajamas. It was wonderful.

Five things I'm looking forward to this week:

1. Prenatal massage.
2. Date night with my handsome hubby.
3. Writing. I have another deadline coming up!
4. Putting my feet up with a good book and some Christmas chocolate.
5. Ringing in the New Year with my family.

Happy New Year, friends!
