A Good Dad

When Mike arrives home from work, Henry abandons whatever fun we are having to greet his daddy with a big smile and beaming eyes. It happens every day. Mike is Henry's role model and he is truly the best daddy I have ever met.

Henry totally got Halloween this year. When we took him trick-or-treating, he admired all the decorations and pumpkins at every house we visited. After he thanked the homeowner for his treat, Henry would grab Mike's hand and say "quick dada" and then Dracula and the spider would run to the next house together. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen. I'm telling you, Mike was blessed with good daddy genes.

Mike is a loving husband and I believe by treating me well, he is showing Henry how to treat women. Mike also sets a good example by working hard. He expects a lot out of our 22-month-old. He makes Henry "work" by taking out the garbage and recycling and praises him when he's done a good job. Afterwards, Henry will proudly tell me how he helped his dada. Mike roughhouses with Henry, but he is also generous with hugs and kisses. I believe little boys need that physical affection and it is not a sign of weakness. Mike is present with our son and he says I love you. A lot. He values family and likes to get out in nature. He makes pancakes on the weekends and has chased Henry around every park in our neighborhood.

Don't worry, the razor has a cap on it!
I really, really love good dads and I'm so happy I married one.

  1. That's so sweet. It's always nice to hear about the good ones, instead of complaining! :)
