Superwomen and Syrup

I was invited to participate in a women's speed networking session on International Women's Day. It was like speed dating, but with young business women. Let's Do Lunch included a glass of champagne, sushi lunch and a swag bag full of goodies. I was nervous at first, but was quickly overcome by the positive energy in the room. It was so inspiring to meet so many women and celebrate their business accomplishments. I enjoyed sitting back and listening to their stories and journeys. The event reminded me to never stop chasing my dreams.

Since my article "Working Mothers Face Discrimination" has been published in the Ottawa Citizen, so many of you have written and shared how this issue has also affected your family. Together, we face hardship, but we are capable of moving forward! Thank you all for sharing my story.

And the best part of my weekend?

A trip to the sugar bush with my little family. Maple Fest 2014 is now underway at Proulx Farm in Cumberland. We took the guided tour, a horse-drawn sleigh ride and enjoyed taffy on the snow. Go, go, go! It was worth it.

Five things I'm looking forward to this week:
  1. A winter picnic playdate.
  2. Writing. I have another deadline coming up!
  3. A movie date with a girlfriend.
  4. A visit with Nannie.
  5. A possible business venture with my blog. Stay tuned!
What are your plans for March Break!?!
